District Solo & Small Ensemble Festival

Fort Zumwalt Middle School band students have the opportunity to pick, prepare, and perform a piece of solo music (unaccompanied or with a piano accompanist) or a piece of small-ensemble music (2 to 6 musicians) for a clinician, who will then give your child feedback on his or her performance. This is not a competition; no awards or places are given - just constructive feedback. Music should be practiced/rehearsed outside of school, though, some class time will be given. Choosing Music

The Fort Zumwalt South Band Program has a library of solo and small ensemble pieces that students can choose from and borrow. Students may also purchase a piece on their own or go on the suggestion of a private lesson instructor as far as what piece to play.
